Course Etiquette

Golf etiquette is about more than just playing well, it’s about courtesy, respect, and sportsmanship, ensuring everyone enjoys their time on the course and at the club.

Respect for the course – leave the course as you would like to find it by repairing pitch-marks, replacing divots and raking bunkers.
Respect for your fellow players – be sportsmanlike and polite, stay by the green to watch them hole out, and avoid distracting them.
Respect for the game – by knowing the Rules and etiquette of golf.

Safety First
Wait until players ahead are out of range or have signaled with bells. Alert green staff or others nearby before making a stroke that could endanger them. If your ball heads towards someone, shout “fore” immediately.

Maintain Pace of Play
Keep pace with the group ahead. If you fall behind and delay others, invite the group behind to play through. If the group behind plays faster, let them play through, regardless of group size.

Be Ready to Play
Be prepared to play when it’s your turn. Leave bags or trolleys just off the green in the direction of the next tee. After completing a hole, leave the putting green promptly.

Handling a Lost Ball
If you think your ball may be lost or out of bounds, play a provisional to save time. If a ball is hard to find, signal the group behind to play through without waiting the full three minutes. Allow the group to pass completely before resuming play.

Bunkers
Smooth over holes and footprints before leaving a bunker using the provided rakes.

Divots & Ball Marks
Repair any fairway divots or ball marks on the green, regardless of who caused them.

Follow Local Rules
Stay updated on specific course rules or guidelines, as they can change.
