Breakdown of additional fees included above;
- All Golfing members (unless stated) require Golf Ireland Affilation Fee, payable to club : 18+ £26.50 / U18 £7.00
- All Golfing members require Insurance, payable to club : £4
- All age 18+ members, £50 per annum is paid into the 'Course Improvement Fund' ring-fenced for ongoing improvements
- Each June, a £100 Smartcard Levy is also collected from all golfing members (except Juniors). This is credited to your Smartcard and may be used for bar & restaurant purchases (terms and conditions apply).
In addition to the Subscription fee;
- Each year at renewal in January and additionally in June, it is required to load your Smartcard with £100 on each occasion. This is credited to your Smartcard and may be used for bar & restaurant purchases (terms and conditions apply).
Your Smartcard can be topped up as needed via cash or card in the office or the Bar.

When does membership run from?
Membership runs annually Jan 1st - Dec 31st, with subscriptions due at the start of each membership year.
Can I join part-way through the year?
Yes. For new members 18+, your membership subscription is Pro Rata in the first year according to your month of joining (excluding Golf Ireland fees, insurance and levys). For U-18s there is no Pro Rata reduction.
Can I leave part-way through the year with refund?
Membership subscriptions are non-refundable once the membership year has commenced, in line with club rules.
Is there a joining fee / entrance fee?
There is currently no joining or entrance fees
What is included in a full golf membership?
Full golf membership includes full playing rights, entry into club competitions, access to official handicapping, and use of club facilities.
Can juniors play in competitions?
Yes. Junior members are encouraged to take part in competitions appropriate to their age and ability, helping them develop within the club.
Do social members get any golf access?
Social membership does not include regular golf access, but social members are welcome to participate in clubhouse events and activities.
Is Fortwilliam suitable for new or returning golfers?
Absolutely. Fortwilliam is known for its welcoming atmosphere and is an excellent club for golfers joining for the first time or returning to the game.
