Established in 1891, Fortwilliam Golf Club proudly offers the only 18-hole course in North Belfast, welcoming golfers of all levels to experience not just the course but also our clubhouse and excellent cuisine.
Nestled just off Antrim Road on Downview Avenue, our Parkland course boasts a prime location between the stunning, wooded slopes of Cave Hill to the west and the expansive views of Belfast Lough to the east. As you play, the scenic vistas from our tees and fairways will enhance the enjoyment of every round.
Though not long by modern standards, our par-70 course stretches just over 6,000 yards from the back tees and presents a unique set of challenges. The narrow, tree-lined fairways and deceptively tricky greens will test your accuracy and shot-making ability. Many golfers have joked that a chainsaw might be more useful than a few extra clubs in the bag! With holes that demand fades, draws, and precision around the greens, Fortwilliam will push every aspect of your game. If you have any weak spots, rest assured this course will reveal them.
Fortwilliam has earned a reputation as a true test of golf, hosting numerous Golfing Union of Ireland qualifying events and pro-ams over the years. Playing to your handicap here is no easy feat, but the rewards of conquering this course are well worth the challenge.
